Stricken children sob on California beach after boy, 15, went for night time swim off pier and vanished
Children were seen consoling each other after their 15-year-old friend vanished during a night swim in Huntington Beach on Sunday night. Two swimmers went into the water near Lifeguard Tower 11, south of Huntington Beach Pier, but only one returned, per authorities. Witnesses said the came up fast and the waves got bigger, sweeping the boy away. The US Coast Guard said on Monday night that it had suspended the search for the boy, who has not been named by authorities.
